What is E-E-A-T and Why It Matters

Almost everyone in blogging knows that E-E-A-T is important. But the real question is: how do you establish it, and what does it actually mean?

If I am a marketer by profession and I write an article about parenting coaching, there are very low chances that Google will prioritize my content. In most updates, Google has clearly mentioned that if you are not an expert in a topic and still writing about it, your chances of getting higher rankings are low.

If someone searches my name on Google, most of the information they will find will be related to digital marketing, not parenting. Google is very good at crawling and understanding identity, so it can easily figure out that I am not a parenting expert. Because of this, ranking becomes difficult.

E-E-A-T stands for:

  1. Experience
  2. Expertise
  3. Authoritativeness
  4. Trustworthiness

These four factors are interconnected and mostly reflected through your content and overall website presence.

Instead of understanding them separately, let’s see how you can establish E-E-A-T through your website, authors, and content.

1. Optimize Author Profiles

Your author profile is extremely important.

For every article, Google should be able to see:

  1. Experience
  2. Expertise
  3. Authority
  4. Trustworthiness

So, properly optimize your author profile by adding:

  1. Detailed bio
  2. Area of expertise
  3. Background and experience

This helps Google understand who is writing the content.

Link your website and authors to social platforms like:

  1. LinkedIn
  2. Twitter (X)
  3. Instagram
  4. Facebook

Also, add each author’s social links in their bio.

This helps Google verify that:

  1. These are real human authors
  2. They have a presence beyond the website

3. Guest Posting

If an author has published guest posts on multiple websites in the same niche, it signals expertise.

Google can easily crawl this and understand that:

  1. The author is active across platforms
  2. They are recognized in that niche

This strengthens authority.

4. PR and Mentions

If your website is older and you have a budget, you can invest in PR.

This includes:

  1. Getting mentions on other websites
  2. Creating a Wikipedia page (if possible)
  3. Getting featured in articles or industry platforms

These mentions tell Google that:

  1. Your website is known in the industry
  2. You have authority in your niche

5. Show Expertise Through Content

The best way to prove expertise is through your content.

Do not write general articles. Add depth and real knowledge.

Example

If the topic is “How to cook a Bengali dish,” a general article will just list steps.

But an expert article will include:

  1. Which utensils to use
  2. Common mistakes
  3. Tips to improve taste
  4. Real-life cooking experience

Google can clearly differentiate between general and expert content.

6. Add Real Experience

Let’s take another example: “How to use turmeric on skin.”

There are many articles on this topic. But to stand out, you can:

  1. Share personal experience
  2. Add traditional remedies
  3. Explain what actually worked for you

This shows:

  1. Real experience
  2. Practical knowledge

It makes your content more trustworthy.

7. Embed Content and Proof

If you have created:

  1. Videos
  2. Social media posts
  3. Tutorials

Embed them inside your article.

For example:

  1. YouTube videos
  2. Instagram posts
  3. LinkedIn content

This shows Google that:

  1. You are creating content in multiple formats
  2. You have deeper involvement in the topic

8. Build Authority Through Consistency

If an author has been writing about the same niche for a long time, Google will naturally understand their expertise.

Consistency across:

  1. Articles
  2. Platforms
  3. Topics

builds strong authority.

9. What If You Are Not an Expert?

If you are not an expert in a niche, you have two options:

Option 1: Hire Experts

Hire writers who are already experts in that niche.

Option 2: Build Smartly

Create content in a way that:

  1. Looks structured and valuable
  2. Provides real insights
  3. Builds credibility over time

Even if you are doing it manually, present your content in a way that builds trust and does not look superficial.

Final Thoughts

E-E-A-T is not a single action—it is built over time through:

  1. Author identity
  2. Content quality
  3. Real experience
  4. External validation

If you apply these strategies correctly, your website’s authority will gradually increase, and Google will start trusting your content more.
